Course Description
501 Microeconomic Theory I -- 3 Prereq EconS 301 or 305; one year calculus. Microeconomic theory, multivariate optimization, consumer and producer theory, competitive partial equilibrium, introduction to imperfect competition.
Learning Objectives
- Students acquire a rigorous analytical understanding of the standard microeconomic models of consumer and firm
- Understand the methods and analytical tools of microeconomic analysis used in professional literature
- Be able to apply the theory to a wide variety of economic problems and policies.
