Course Description:

EconS 102 introduces you to basic economic reasoning, underlying principles and facts that are essential for the understanding of today’s economy. Some of the topics covered in the course are: the determinants of the national unemployment rate and the rate of inflation, government spending and taxation, and federal budget deficits. Interest rates, the money supply and monetary policy and the Federal Reserve Bank's operations are also discussed.
